HELP SAVE OUR HOME
Please take the time to read about my families need for HELP . I am a 55 year old man . My wife and I have raised 5 children . 4 daughters , ages 35 , 32 , 25 , and 22 and 1 son 31 . They are all very kind and loving people . We are very proud of all of them . I have worked as a welder for over 34 years now . My wife has always been a " stay at home Mom " and that is the way we wanted it . We ( my Dad who passed away 7 years ago and I ) built our HOME in 1976 and it has been a very special home to all of us ( good times and bad ) . Yes we have the markings on our dining room door , you know the little lines with names on them that mark the growth and age of our kids and even our grandkids . You cannot replace those type of things . Now imagine at our age , taking a drive past our own house and saying sadly " We wish we could still be there " . As I have said I have worked all my life , scraping and scrounging to give my children a very moderate up-bringing and we now need help .
We have lived from pay to pay all our lives . We have refinanced at least 3 times and have bailed ourselves out of deep financial trouble more than we've wanted to . Our kids , except for our youngest , have married and moved away now , but remain close to there HOME . It is as though they never really wanted to leave . We have 8 grandkids now and they are GREAT ! I have told you some of the very , very few things that have made our Home very special to us . Some things I have not told you , are that my wife has been disabled since 1990 with Bi-Polar Depressive illness . It has been a struggle for her and our family but we have pulled together and she has been able to lead a troubled but pretty normal life . I can honestly say I believe overwhelming financial troubles for years and years were a major contribution to her illness and I felt helpless . I was stretched to the limit with overtime and even side jobs at home and we continued to get deeper in debt . I now am dealing with depression , anxiety and panic disorder . Our income is now set and we live on my disability retirement and SS disability . Total of $2604/mo after taxes . That doesn't seem to bad , however our house payment is $730/mo. , a 2nd mortgage 200/mo. and we pay $575/mo. for my wifes health ins. ( she cannot lose this because she can't get new ins . because of Bi-Polar) . We make too much to qualify for any social services , such as food stamps or medicaid for my wife but we don't make enough money to live respectfully . With having to pay a considerable amount for our health insurance and paying our house payment we really stretch to be enough . We have declared bankrupcy in May 2007 . We are trying to retain our home even though the big payments will remain . We needed to free up what income we have . It is Aug 10th , we have paid our major bills for Aug . We have no money for food . We have nothing in our freezer . Nothing in our cupboards . Peanut butter , bread , eggs and some potatoes . Please Help as we have nowhere else to turn .
The one thing I dreamed of and tried working hard to do was to be mortgage free or close to it when I retired . I always wanted a garage and I did like most parents , instead of a garage , I took care of my children and I would do without things again if I had to do life over . Because I am very proud of all our kids . That is what being a parent is , is sacrifice . That dream of being mortgage free or a garage has been crushed . Even though our disabilties don't allow us to do all things , we still would like to try and enjoy the very family that made our house a home . We will need help to do so . I ask that anyone who can afford to help us , please do so . I have worked to be almost debt free other than the mortgage . Now we don't have the income to chip at the mortgage and the payment will be there until and after we die . $ 103,000 and a payment of $930/mo. .We have 9 grandkids also and we would love to be able to spend a little money on them , but we can't . I have worked hundreds of overtime hours when I worked , but can't work at all now and my wife has been unable to work since 1990 . We are maxed out on 2 credit cards any we have no family that can help . Please , help to ease our financial concerns and constant worry . Please someone find it in their hearts to help . With our illnesses it is hard to find a great deal of happiness . It is a fog of constant worry and depression to even live . A token of kindness in helping us with our money woes would be a lift and a true blessing .
